Aquatic invasive species survey map

To safeguard Canada’s aquatic ecosystems, efforts are made to prevent the introduction and spread of aquatic invasive species that can disrupt native biodiversity, degrade habitat quality, and threaten species at risk. Implementing measures to prevent, detect, respond to, and control aquatic invasive species supports compliance with the Fisheries Act and the Species at Risk Act, and contributes to the long-term resilience of Canada’s freshwater and marine environments. Learn more about aquatic invasive species.

The map is intended to provide an overview of publicly available data from Fisheries and Oceans Canada about aquatic invasive species, including historic records. Each point on the map represents a location that was surveyed for one or more aquatic invasive species. The size of a circle will change based on the number of data points at the specified location. A triangle represents a single observation.

The data contained in this map has been made available for information purposes only and may not reflect the actual distribution of populations of aquatic invasive species. This data is not final and is subject to change at any time. Contact Fisheries and Oceans Canada for questions about information found in this map.
