ARGO
Integrated Science Data Management (ISDM)

Argo is an international project and a major component of the oceans observing system. Approximately 3000 profiling floats will be deployed around the world. Once at sea, the float sinks to a preprogrammed target depth of 2000 meters for a preprogrammed period of time. It then floats to the surface, taking temperature and salinity values during its ascent at set depths. At the surface, the float drifts along for a day or two and transmits the data to a satellite run by Service Argos which then determines the position of the float. Service Argos sends the data to various data centers such as ISDM.

Atlantic Zone Monitoring Programme (AZMP)
Integrated Science Data Management (ISDM)

Biological, chemical and physical information on the northwestern Atlantic Ocean gathered through the Atlantic Zone Monitoring Program. AZMP provides an ever-expanding perspective on seasonal, annual and longer-term changes in ocean conditions including sea levels, climate and weather

British Columbia Lighthouse data
Pacific Region

Daily values of sea surface temperature and salinity are observed at the current and old lighthouses around the coast of British Columbia.

Contours of Average Temperature and Salinity in the Gulf of Alaska
Pacific Region

Figures at this site show contours of median temperature and salinity through the Gulf of Alaska. Summer and winter figures are presented separately at each of 46 depths through the gulf.

Line P Data
Pacific Region

A series of oceanographic stations extending from the mouth of the Juan de Fuca Strait, south of Vancouver Island, to Ocean Station Papa at 50°N 145°W, in the Pacific Ocean.

Moorings Data
Pacific Region

Search the Institute of Ocean Sciences / Ocean Sciences Data Inventory for data from moored instrumentation. This application will return inventory information about the data records that meet the search criteria but will not return the actual data.

Oceanographic Databases
Maritimes Oceans and Ecosystem Science (OES)

Access to a number of databases maintained by Ocean Sciences at the Bedford Institute. The databases include temperature-salinity profiles for the North West Atlantic, sea-surface temperature from satellite, monthly statistics of ocean currents and other moored instruments, and daily temperature observations from coastal thermographs.

Range profiles
Pacific Region

The seasonal means and expected ranges of temperature and salinity. Range Profile files contain statistical information about the area enclosed by the polygon in the displayed map. The statistics are based on CTD and bottle cast profiles which were present in the IOS data archives at the time of the file's creation (December 1996). In addition to being area-specific, the statistics are also specific to a season.
