Important: The following proposal form is your application to the Aquatic Ecosystems Restoration Fund (AERF). Please refer to the AERF Proposal Guidelines as you complete this application. If you have questions, please contact the appropriate DFO regional contact.

The AERF applicants are required to submit a proposal as part of the review process if they want to be considered for funding. Should your project align with AERF requirements, you will be asked to submit details about your project as part of the contribution agreement negotiations. All sections of the proposal form must be completed to be considered.

Timelines and how to apply

Applications must be submitted via email to the DFO regional Contact by November 28th, 2022 (closing at 11:59pm for your region).

Please note:

Extensions to the application deadline will not be granted. Proponents are reminded that they should receive a notification of a successful submission within five working days of the submission of their application.

Identify how the project will help to address direct and indirect impacts to fish and fish habitat on Canadian coastal aquatic environments within the timeframe of the project, and what methods will be used to do so. Also provide a clear explanation on how your project meet AERF objectives and priority activities based on your project goals and objectives, and identify the expected results and how they will be measured.
