Notice of Invoking Subs. 70(3) of the Fishery (General) Regulations
2024 – Northern shrimp (SFA 6)

The Minister of Fisheries and Oceans has approved an extension to complete the rebuilding plan for the stock described below as permitted in subs. 70(3) of the Fishery (General) Regulations.

Stock: Northern Shrimp in Shrimp Fishing Area (SFA) 6

Revised target completion date of the rebuilding plan: 03/07/2024

Rationale: The rebuilding plan development timeline for Northern shrimp in SFA 6 was extended by three (3) months past its original completion date of April 3, 2024 to allow for a synchronized decision to approve the Rebuilding Plan in combination with the 2024 decision on fisheries management measures, including Total Allowable Catch.
