Total Allowable Catches (TACs) and Sharing Arrangements (if applicable)

The 2018 quotas are:
Area QUOTA (t)
SFA 0 500
SFA 1 14 875*

* The Northwest Atlantic Fisheries Organization’s (NAFO) Scientific Council has suggested that catches for Division 0A east of 60°30W not exceed 105,000t. Canada accepts a TAC of 105,000t. Canada’s share (17% of the offshore portion) is fished in SFA 1. Individual allocations to stakeholders in this SFA will remain at 2004-2008 levels, with the understanding that should the Canadian TAC of 14,875t be reached, the fishery will be closed. SFA 7

For 2018, NAFO’s decision is that Division 3L will remain closed to commercial fishing.
