Request for Proposals to transform the Freshwater Fish Marketing Corporation (FFMC)
The request for proposals (RFP) to acquire the FFMC was launched on December 5, 2024. The process is now in the solicitation of Final Letters of Intent stage (i.e., the comprehensive bid).
The RFP is the process through which interested parties are invited to submit a bid to acquire the FFMC. The RFP process includes three stages:
- Stage 1: Solicitation of Initial Letters of Intent – December 5, 2024 to March 28, 2025 (Deadline extended)
- Stage 2: Solicitation of Final Letters of Intent – May 7, 2025 to September 17, 2025
- Stage 3: Closing – Fall 2025 to Winter 2026
The anticipated timeline for the RFP is subject to change at DFO's sole discretion. DFO reserves the right to decline to accept any bid. DFO has retained the services of Deloitte Corporate Finance Inc. to provide supplementary divestiture support services for this process.
A Confidential Information Memorandum was made available to interested parties upon entry into a non-disclosure agreement. The Confidential Information Memorandum is a document that provides potential buyers with important corporate information for the bidding process.
Applications were open for eligible Indigenous organizations to apply for capacity funding to participate in Stage 1 of the request for proposals process (November 4, 2024 to January 8, 2025). The application process for Stage 1 capacity funding is now closed.
The request for proposals process is now in Stage 2, Solicitation of Final Letters of Intent. Any eligible Indigenous organizations advancing to this stage will be notified of an opportunity to apply for capacity funding to support their participation.
