2026 Scotian Shelf shrimp (Shrimp Fishing Areas 13, 14, 15 and 16) - Maritimes Region

Shrimp Fishing Areas (SFA) 13, 14, 15, and 16 are located in the DFO Maritimes Region in Nova Scotia from Cape North, Cape Breton to the Bay of Fundy.

Dates of season
Shrimp fishing in SFA 13, 14, 15 and 16 is open year round, from January 1 to December 31.
Total allowable catches (TACs) and sharing arrangements
The 2026 TAC for SFA 13, 14, and 15 is 800 tonnes (t). The TAC is allocated in accordance with the established fleet shares:
- Mobile fleet = 736 t (92% of TAC)
- Trap fleet = 64 t (8% of TAC)
SFA 16 is a competitive fishery with no TAC and is not active.
The limit on temporary transfer of individual transferable quota is removed for 2026.
Management measures
Scotian Shelf shrimp fisheries are managed under the Integrated Fisheries Management Plan for Shrimp (Pandalus borealis) – Scotian Shelf – As of 2013.
