The Eastern Shore herring gillnet fishery occurs in the spawning areas off Eastern Nova Scotia (ENS).
Dates of season (subject to change)
The Eastern Shore fishery operates from September 15 to December 31, 2025.
Total allowable catch
The 2025 total allowable catch (TAC) is 2,166.9 tonnes.
Management measures
The Atlantic Herring fisheries are managed under the Integrated Fisheries Management Plan (IFMP).
