Eastern and Western Assessment Zones: Northern Shrimp Management Units Davis Strait East, Davis Strait West, Nunavut East, Nunavik East, Nunavut West and Nunavik West – 2023-24

Species and area

The Eastern Assessment Zone (EAZ) comprises the Northern Shrimp Fishing Management Units (MU) Davis Strait East (DS E) and Davis Strait West (DS W), Nunavik East (NK E) and Nunavut East (NU E). The Western Assessment Zone (WAZ) comprises the MUs Nunavik West (NK W) and Nunavut West (NU W).

Dates of season (subject to change)

These MUs are open year round, from April 1 to March 31.

Total Allowable Catches (TAC)

Eastern Assessment Zone

The TAC for P. montagui in the EAZ will increase by 50.0% to 2,100t. The TAC for P. borealis in the EAZ will decrease by 31.2% to 7,383t.
