2022 herring fishery (Maritimes Region) – Little Hope herring gillnet fishery
The Little Hope herring gillnet fishery occurs in the spawning areas off Southwest Nova Scotia (SWNS).
Dates of season (subject to change)
The Little Hope fishery operates from August 15 to October 31, 2022.
Total allowable catch
The 2022 total allowable catch (TAC) is 8,595 tonnes.
Management measures
The Atlantic Herring fisheries are managed under the Integrated Fisheries Management Plan (IFMP) and the Canadian Atlantic Herring SWNS Rebuilding Plan.
