2020 offshore Arctic surf clam fishery - Banquereau and Grand Bank

The 2020 offshore Arctic surf clam fishery occurs on offshore clam beds located on the Grand Banks off the southern coast of Newfoundland and Banquereau Bank east of Cape Breton (Nova Scotia).

Dates of season (subject to change)

The offshore Arctic surf clam fishery operates year round, from January 1st – December 31st.

Total Allowable Catches (TACs)

The TAC for the 2020 Arctic surf clam fishery has been set at 35,699 tonnes, resulting from the combined Grand Bank TAC of 14,756 tonnes and the Banquereau Bank TAC of 20,943 tonnes.

Management measures

The offshore Arctic surf clam fishery is managed under the offshore clam integrated fisheries management plan (IFMP).
