July 9, 2025
Fisheries and Oceans Canada, Arctic Region advises that the Greenland Halibut fixed-gear competitive fishery in NAFO Division 0B has been extended by two days (48 hours) and will now close at 23:59 (UTC) on July 12, 2025.
Any catch harvested after the closure noted above may be counted against a Special Allocation or Enterprise Allocation, if applicable, or covered via a temporary quota transfer from a Special Allocation or Enterprise Allocation. Licence holders are required to ensure that their vessel operator and master of the vessel are aware of this provision.
Licence holders, vessel operators, and masters of the vessel are reminded of the following: While on a fishing trip (as defined in the Atlantic Fishery Regulations, 1985), any vessel, prior to the removal from a licence’s vessel schedule, must be transferred to a new licence with no breaks in licence coverage until the fishing trip ends.
