Marine Spatial Planning

The Marine Spatial Planning (MSP) Program brings together relevant authorities to better coordinate how we use and manage marine spaces to achieve ecological, economic, and socio-economic objectives. Science activities undertaken through the MSP program will provide information and advice to support the identification of suitable areas for marine activities, while ensuring conservation and socio-economic objectives are achieved through protection and other special measures.

Purpose

Funded projects currently focus on generating data to fill data gaps identified by the MSP program. In future years projects that fill priority data gaps or conduct modelling analyses for predictions/scenarios will be prioritized for funding.
