About the Atlantic Science Enterprise Centre
Imagine what could happen when scientists, researchers, students, Elders and industry come together to explore where the land meets the sea.
Imagine the research that could take place.
Imagine the discoveries that could lead to innovative ideas.
Imagine how we could better co-exist with our most precious resource: water.
Imagine the possibilities…
The Atlantic Science Enterprise Centre (ASEC) is a place where world-class research will be conducted, science and technical information discussed and shared, and where the community, and our youth in particular, learn from experts and experience the wonders of our coast and estuaries and the extraordinary life that exists within them.
ASEC fosters partnerships between the scientific and academic communities, Indigenous peoples, business groups, the fishing industry, government partners, non-government organizations and the public. By working together (Become a Partner), imagine what we’ll be able to accomplish.
The Gulf Fisheries Centre/Atlantic Science Enterprise Centre will feature research that focuses on what happens along our coastlines and in our estuaries, and how they are connected. It is a multi-partner research facility that will be equipped with state-of-the-art infrastructure, tools and networks in the pursuit of world-leading scientific research.
ASEC was created to drive innovative, collaborative scientific research; to foster partnerships; to promote community engagement and ocean literacy. The centre is being built on a culture of sustainability, excellence and continuous innovation while actively focusing on traditional ecological knowledge.
