On behalf of the Government of Canada, I am pleased to respond to the 2nd Report of the Standing Committee on Fisheries and Oceans, entitled Here We Go Again.Or The 2004 Fraser River Salmon Fishery.

I would like to thank the Committee for its report. The Government welcomes the work of the Standing Committee and has given serious consideration to the report and its recommendations. As identified by the Standing Committee in its report, there were a number of interrelated and complex issues regarding the 2004 Fraser River salmon fishery.

I look forward to working with members of the Standing Committee on the full range of issues under the mandate of the department.
