Different activities will be eligible for funding under the 3 pillars of the British Columbia Salmon Restoration and Innovation Fund (BCSRIF): innovation, infrastructure and science partnerships. Examples include:
Innovation to encourage the development of new technologies to increase productivity and help meet conservation and sustainability objectives, including the protection and restoration of wild BC stocks, including Pacific salmon.
Infrastructure to encourage capital investments in new products, processes or technologies to support the advancement of sustainable fishing practices, and to support the protection and restoration of wild BC stocks, including Pacific salmon.
Science partnerships to support collaborations with academia and other research institutions to improve our knowledge and understanding of impacts to wild stocks and to develop sustainable fishing practices.

The following is an outline of the information required in the expression of interest to assist the evaluation of your proposed project. This section of the expression of interest should not exceed 5 pages.

1. Introduction

1.1. Description of applicant

Provide a short description of the applicant, including a description of the membership if applicable. Identify if the applicant is a commercial enterprise or non-commercial organization.

Eligible applicants:

Commercial enterprises and non-commercial organizations that reside in the Province of BC and are active in or support activities (e.g., research and development, science) related to the fish and seafood harvesting, processing, or aquaculture sectors.

1.2. Collaboration and engagement

Provide a brief background on the project and its significance to the priority themes of BCSRIF. Who was engaged in the development of this expression of interest (e.g., provincial government, industry, research institutions)?

Who will be collaborating on the delivery of the project, if approved?

Will the project provide a benefit to the fish and seafood sector or contribute to the protection and restoration of wild BC priority fish stocks?
