Interim order repealed for the protection of the North Atlantic Right Whales (Eubalaena glacialis) in the Gulf of St. Lawrence

Transport Canada (TC) – November 16, 2020 – This notice to fish harvesters is issued in accordance with the Transport Canada 2020 traffic management measures to protect North Atlantic right whales (NARW) in Canada. 

Speed Restrictions in the Static Zone and Seasonal Management Areas - Repealed

On April 28, 2020, an Interim Order for the Protection of the North Atlantic Right Whales (Eubalaena glacialis) in the Gulf of St. Lawrence came into effect. ThisInterim Order created speed restrictions over ground within the static zone and seasonal management areas, in the Gulf of St. Lawrence to reduce the risk to North Atlantic Right Whales.
