Description: The Atlantic Salmon Endowment Fund is a one-time conditional grant invested to provide long-term funding for the operation of the Atlantic Salmon Conservation Foundation. The Foundation invests the funds and uses the income to assist community groups in the restoration, protection, and improved conservation of the Atlantic salmon resource in Atlantic Canada and Québec. This will promote projects in research, conservation, habitat restoration, and enhancement for the attainment of healthy and sustainable wild Atlantic salmon stocks.

Name of Recipient: The Pacific Salmon Endowment Fund Society

Description: The Pacific Salmon Endowment Fund was established by a one-time $30 million federal grant made by Fisheries and Oceans Canada in February 2001. Annual investment revenues generated by Endowment Fund assets are provided to the Pacific Salmon Foundation, a not for profit charitable organization to redistribute to community groups to undertake specific plans and activities to support salmon and their habitat.

Summary of Results Achieved by the Recipient: The Pacific Salmon Endowment Fund Society provided investment income generated by Endowment Fund Assets to the Pacific Salmon Foundation, consistent with the specific terms of the operating agreement that exists between those two entities.
