Chairperson: G. Chaput

A zonal advisory process meeting was held November 1 and 2, 2011 in Moncton (New Brunswick) to conduct a science peer review of information on White Hake (Urophycis tenuis) from eastern Canada. The zonal meeting was conducted in response to a request for a status report on this species by the Committee on the Status of Endangered Wildlife in Canada (COSEWIC). Participants at the science review included DFO personnel (Science Branch, Species at Risk, Fisheries Management) from the four DFO regions of eastern Canada (Gulf, Maritimes, Newfoundland and Labrador and Quebec), university researchers, the COSEWIC report contract author and the co-chair of the Marine Fish Species Specialist Sub-committee. A total of five research documents are anticipated to be published.
