Hello and welcome to the Atlantic Science Enterprise Centre.

So what is this centre? It’s a place where we will work with scientists and experts interested in studying the wonders of our coasts and estuaries, including the fish and animals that live there and how we are all connected. We want to bring these people together in one physical space or through virtual networks to study important questions about our coastal oceans and rivers and to propose solutions to current problems to benefit us all in the future.

We also want to excite kids and adults alike by showing them the wonders of the oceans and why science is cool. We already have schools visiting us – and we have brand new 3D interactive displays about the ocean. Very soon we are going to start a public speaker series and this year’s theme will be “Women of Science.”

Right now the Atlantic Science Enterprise Centre is located in the Fisheries and Oceans Regional Headquarters, the Gulf Fisheries Centre, in Moncton, N.B. To make that happen, we have taken two grand rooms that were part of the original convent and school, Collège Notre-Dame d’Acadie, and renovated them. The first is the 460 seat auditorium with its original wooden seats and stage. The second is the chapel from the convent, which has seven-metre high ceilings and has been converted into a “collaborative” space.

We hope you will continue to follow and work with us.… Imagine what we’ll be able to accomplish!
