National Programs
Ocean Facts!
At least twenty countries have participated in the Argo program deploying over 3000 Argo floats.
Ocean observations are gathered through many different national programs. The programs use a variety of technologies, from autonomous floats in the Argo program to remote sensing satellites to a message in a bottle in the Drift Bottle Project. They measure many different ocean parameters including sea surface temperature, currents, salinity, sea level height, and phytoplankton blooms among others.
