Bedford Basin Plankton Monitoring
Maritimes Oceans and Ecosystem Science (OES)

A marine embayment encircled by the municipality of Halifax region. In 1991, a time series was established to record the weekly state of the plankton ecosystem in this basin. The strategy of regular and perpetual sampling provides data to assess environmental variability at the weekly, monthly, seasonal, annual and decadal time scales

A repository for biological and chemical marine environmental sample measurements. Scientific Research Missions originating from the various DFO Research Institutions are the primary sources of information in the holdings. To access the database you are required to register for a username and password.

British Columbia Lighthouse data
Pacific Region

Daily values of sea surface temperature and salinity are observed at the current and old lighthouses around the coast of British Columbia.

Buoy Weather Data
Pacific Region

Sixteen offshore weather buoys maintained by Environment Canada and Fisheries and Oceans Canada in association with Axys, a private company in Sidney, B.C. measure general weather information in the marine area around British Columbia and report their data to Environment Canada via satellite.
