CAHR participated in two Canadian Healthy Oceans Network (CHONe) - DFO meetings, one regionally, and one nationally in May and September, 2009

A call for proposals for the 2009-10 year was circulated in early May. The technical review process was completed June 12, 2009 resulting in eight funded and eight endorsed projects.

The CAHR Secretariat, Steering Committee, and Regional Science representatives from each region met March 17-18, 2009. This science priorities meeting focused on CAHR progress and future research directions.

A CAHR-International Governance Strategy (IGS) workshop on longterm monitoring of Vulnerable Marine Ecosystems (VMEs) was held in Halifax, March 10-11, 2009.

CAHR has participatied in numerous international meeting discussions in the last year including:

• A symposium on managing impacts to fish and fish habitat at the American Fisheries Society (AFS) annual meeting in Ottawa, August 2008
• A habitat symposium at the International Council for Exploration of the Sea (ICES) annual science conference in Halifax, September 2008
• A special topic meeting of the International Association for Impact Assessment (IAIA) on 'Assessing and Managing Cumulative Environmental Effects' in Calgary, November   2008

CAHR introduced the COE to the rest of the country through 11 regional visits in 2008.
