They spend the summer in coastal estuaries and come fall they return to their wintering areas. For communities in Northern Quebec, the spring and fall migrations are a traditional time to hunt beluga. Migration adds to the challenge of distinguishing one population or stock from another, as does the tendency of marine mammals to form groups based on family, age, sex or social relationships.]]></description>
