CHS - Technical Services

Technical Services Division provides services and support to the other three CHS Divisions, as well as some support for other Fisheries and Oceans programs. Computer and software support are provided for data collection, processing and archiving, for chart construction and for the office computer systems. Electronic equipment both in the field and in the office are serviced and maintained. The Hydrographic Data Centre is responsible for archiving information, hard copy and digital versions, and maintaining an ORACLE records database called CHSDIR. A database administrator is responsible for several ORACLE databases: CHSDIR, CHS Products, Navigational Aids and in the near future, Hydrographic Source Data.
