Events and Awareness

We all have a stake in ensuring the health and sustainable development of Canada’s oceans. Much is happening to involve those with an interest in oceans and marine resources and the word is spreading about the importance of oceans to Canada and the world!

Fisheries and Oceans Canada organizes and participates in a number of stewardship, education, outreach, and community activities and initiatives across Canada.

This section of the site provides information on:

• World Oceans Day annual celebratory events and activities;

• upcoming oceans conferences, both domestic and international;
• educational materials for students and teachers;
• consultations with Canadians on oceans issues; and
