Minister Ashfield Lends his Support to Central and Arctic Canada Exhibitors at the International Boston Seafood Show

Boston, Massachusetts - Minister Ashfield lent his support to Central and Arctic Canada exhibitors at the International Boston Seafood Show yesterday, where he met with many potential buyers and sellers at what is North America largest seafood event.

The Central & Arctic region of Canada (including Ontario, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, Nunavut, N.W.T. and the Yukon) exported approximately 23,917 tonnes of fish and seafood in 2012. The top three exports by value were Perch (3,104 t valued at $ 41.1 million), Whitefish ( 4,267 t valued at $ 19.8 million) and Pickerel (1,319 t valued at $ 13.9 million).
