Canadian Coast Guard Icebreaking Operations Scheduled for Lake Ontario
Sarnia, Ontario – Commencing Thursday, March 21, the Canadian Coast Guard will be conducting icebreaking operations on Lake Ontario. Harbours in Picton, Ontario and Bath, Ontario will be visited by the Canadian Coast Guard Ship Griffon in preparation for shipping activities.

Any ice along shipping routes and in ports should be considered unsafe and the Coast Guard advises everyone to stay clear. Tracks can remain open long after the ships have departed the area. Light spring ice will result in hazardous and unstable conditions.
Coast Guard icebreaking operations support the safe and efficient navigation of commercial vessels.
