OTTAWA - The Honourable Gail Shea, Minister of Fisheries and Oceans, today announced the appointment of Mr. Ken Campbell to the Board of Directors of the Freshwater Fish Marketing Corporation. Mr. Campbell will become the Manitoba Director on the Board.

"I am very pleased that Mr. Campbell accepted this position," said Minister Shea. "I would like to congratulate him. His wealth of knowledge and experience in Manitoba fisheries makes him an excellent choice for the Freshwater Fish Marketing Corporation."

The Freshwater Fish Marketing Corporation is a Crown corporation established in 1969 under the Freshwater Fish Marketing Act to improve returns to freshwater commercial fishers in western Canada, while operating on a self-sustaining basis.

Mr. Campbell was most recently a commercial fisher. Previously, he had been a Fisheries Manager with the Manitoba government and has held numerous committee positions, including the Chair and Co-Chair of the Lake Winnipeg Fishermen’s Advisory Board.
