Bowie Seamount Underwater View (Photo : Neil McDaniel) Canada designated its seventh marine protected area in British Columbia. On behalf of Minister Hearn, Minister Gary Lunn made the announcement from Vancouver in a joint press conference with the WWF-Canada. Parliamentary Secretary Randy Kamp and Guujaaw, President of the Council of Haida Nation participated in a formal joint ceremony marking the event on Saturday, April 19, 2008 in Skidegate, B.C.

While in British Columbia, Mr. Kamp also announced funding for new ocean and science research projects as well as waterfront development in Port McNeill.
