In Vancouver, Minister Geoff Regan today announced the adoption of the Wild Salmon Policy (WSP) and committed $1.1 million to its implementation and related salmon science. The WSP is a new way of managing and conserving salmon and their habitats. The policy defines a new approach to salmon conservation in the Pacific Region. It advances the Government of Canada's agenda for reform of Pacific fisheries.
