Convictions under the Fisheries Act, Magdalen Islands

QUÉBEC – Fisheries and Oceans Canada, Quebec Region, has released a list of persons convicted of various offences and fined under the Fisheries Act in the Magdalen Islands in December 2012 and January 2013.
The fines imposed on the fishers total $8,050. One of the fishers was banned from entering lagoons in the Magdalen Islands for one year. The offenders are:

| Denis A. Cyr | Failure to land entire snow crab catch under the supervision of a dockside observer. Traps left in the water unattended for more than 72 hours. | $2,500 |
| Travis Clarke | Fishing for lobster without a licence and in a lagoon. | $1,500 + ban from entering Magdalen Islands lagoons for one year. |
| Luc Deveau | Failure to complete rock crab fishery logbook. | $500 |

Possession of lobsters under the minimum size. | $750 each |
