Canada's Economic Action Plan at Work

The funding for the Small Craft Harbours Program announced in Canada’s Economic Action Plan includes $33.2 million for projects at small craft harbours in New Brunswick. This new investment is in addition to regular program funding for the Small Craft Harbour Program of approximately $8.7 million for the province of New Brunswick.
The following projects will be carried out under the program:
Major harbour development projects currently underway will be accelerated this year at Beaver Harbour, Ingalls Head, Richibucto and Seal Cove. New major harbour improvement projects will be starting at Blacks Harbour, Escuminac, Lameque, Le Goulet, Lords Cove, Pigeon Hill, Seeleys Cove and Shippagan. Planning for future major capital projects will take place at North Head and White Head.
Wharf repairs or reconstruction are scheduled this year at Anse Bleue, Back Bay, Barre de Cocagne, Black River, Cape Tormentine, Dipper Harbour, Five Fathom Hole, Head Harbour, Mallochs Beach, McEacherns Point, Miscou, North Head, Petit Cap, Petit Shippagan, Petit Rocher, Pigeon Hill, St. Martins, Stonehaven and Wilsons Beach.
Floating wharves will be installed at Caraquet and at Back Bay, which will also be the site of fender and electrical work. The wharf at Botsford will be protected with additional armour stone while breakwater reconstruction will take place at Chockpish and Les Aboiteaux.
Dredging work is planned at Chockpish, McEacherns Point, Pigeon Hill, Pointe Sapin, Pointe Verte, and Sainte-Marie-Sur-Mer.
