The North Atlantic Fisheries Ministers’ Conference

The 17^th annual North Atlantic Fisheries Ministers’ Conference was held in Iceland from July 2-4, 2012. The two themes, selected by the host country, were Effective Policies leading to the eradication of discards and Market challenges and opportunities. In support of these themes, Canada made two presentations, one on Canada’s approach to managing bycatch and discards and the other on the role of the Canadian government in meeting market challenges and opportunities.
