Conferences and Events

The Government of Canada continues to seek bilateral and multilateral opportunities to enhance co-operation in tackling the problem of global overfishing and to strengthen the international governance regime for straddling and highly migratory fish stocks.

Canada participates in many international fora that address these issues, and is leading by example, creating opportunities like the St. John's Conference to further the discussion. These links highlight the diverse activities in which the Government of Canada is engaged to find solutions to protect and rebuild fish stocks in international waters.
