Service delivery changes in general

Q1. Why is the Department making these changes?

A1. We found ways to improve the way we do business in the most cost-effective and efficient way possible. For example, we are moving our licensing services to the Internet because a growing number of Canadians use automated systems and/or the Internet to do their banking and complete other business and financial transactions. We are also taking steps to ensure consistent Departmental practice regarding the costs of logbooks, gear tags and tabs, and at-sea observers.
