The Marshall decision provided many Aboriginal Canadians in the Maritimes and Quebec with new economic opportunities.

The following information provides a glimpse into some of the lives and communities that have been changed as the result of the Marshall decision and the steps that have been taken in the years since to integrate the affected Mi’kmaq and Maliseet First Nations into the Atlantic fishery.
