To register and use the National Online Licensing System, you need:

Computer connected to the Internet

A computer connected to the Internet will allow you to log in to the National Online Licensing System and send and receive e-mail. If you don’t have access at home, visit a public library or any other location that offers Internet services. Some Service Canada centres also have computer terminals with Internet access to Government of Canada websites, including the National Online Licensing System. Call 1-877-535-7307 to find out if your community or a nearby community has access to the Internet.

The Department will e-mail you when you have a message on the National Online Licensing System. If you don't have an e-mail account, you can set one up, for instance by searching “e-mail services” on the Internet.

Printer

You need a printer to print your fishing licence, licence conditions, and payment receipts.

A Portable Document Format (PDF) Reader

A PDF reader will allow you to view and print your licensing documentation that is in your account in the National Online Licensing System. If you don’t have a PDF reader on your computer, there are many PDF readers available for free download or for purchase on the Internet.

GCKey or Sign-In Partner User ID and Password

The GCKey user ID and password is a secure way for the Department to recognize the identity of a person using the National Online Licensing System. If you need help getting your GCKey, refer to the Video Tutorial and the Step-by-Step Guide.
