Management Decision for 2019/20 - Northern Shrimp Fishing Areas (SFAs) 4, 5, 6

SFAs 4 – 6 operate year round, from April 1 – March 31.

Total Allowable Catches

SFA 4

The TAC in SFA 4 borealis will be reduced by 31% to 10,845t (18% exploitation rate (ER) using a two year average), which includes a 1,500t allocation for Use of Fish under Section 10 of the Fisheries Act.

The Montagui bycatch limit will remain at the level of 4,033t.

SFA 5

The TAC in SFA 5 will be reduced by 13.7% to 22,100t (20% ER using a two year average).

SFA 6

The Total Allowable Catch in SFA 6 will be increased by 2.6% to 8,960t to maintain a 10% exploitation rate.
