Total Allowable Catch (TAC) in Northern Shrimp Fishing Areas (SFAs) 2 – 6.

Dates of season (subject to change)

SFA 2-6 operates year round, from April 1 to March 31.

Total Allowable Catches and Sharing Arrangements (if applicable)

Quotas in SFAs 2, 3 and 5 will remain at 2011 levels:

SFA 2: 10,750t
SFA 3: 4,700t
SFA 5: 23,300t

For SFA 4, the Total Allowable Catch will increase by 15%. The Nunatsiavut Government will be added as a special allocation holder in receipt of 300t, with the remaining increase shared between the offshore and inshore fleets at 90% and 10% respectively:

Offshore: 10,166t
Inshore: 677t
Innu: 750t
Nunatsiavut Government: 300t
Offshore competitive: 1,125t
TOTAL: 13,018t

For SFA 6, the Total Allowable Catch will increase by 15% and be implemented on a prorated basis as per below:

Offshore: 14,603t
Inshore: 41,293t
SABRI: 3,000t
Innu: 807t
Fogo Island Co-op: 542t
TOTAL: 60,245t

Management Measures

No new management measures for 2012.
