Atlantic cod in NAFO fishing area 3Pn4RS on the North Shore of the Gulf of St. Lawrence for the inshore fleet of less than 15.24 m (50 feet).
The first competitive Cod fishing period for this fleet will open on June 27, 2010 at 4:30 AM Eastern Daylight Time (EDT).
The global quota for this fishery corresponds to a total of 382 t. The specific quota for this fishing period corresponds to 258 t.
The 2010 Conservation Harvesting Plan for 4RS3Pn Cod for this fleet is available at the Sept-Îles DFO office. It contains the main management measures among which are a few changes introduced in 2010, in particular:
DFO will undertake the implementation of the quota reconciliation in 2010. If there is a quota overrun during the 2010 season it will be deducted from next year's quota by a factor of one-to-one.
Authorized Cod fish harvesters will obtain their valid Licence conditions starting June 22nd, 2010 from the DFO offices in Sept-Iles or Blanc-Sablon where staff management of the Resource Department will be present.
