A Canadian annual total allowable catch of 60,000 tonnes per year for both 2010 and 2011(reduced from 75,000 in 2009) with flexibilities built into the current sharing arrangement (60%inshore (<65 ')/ 40% offshore (>65')) if required during either the 2010 or 2011 fishing season.
If the Canadian harvest reaches or exceeds 50,000 tomes in 2010; the Atlantic Mackerel Advisory Committee will meet in thespring of 2011 to consider whether adjustments to thefishery for the 2011 season are warranted.
Increased efforts will be undertaken by the Department to collect data from mackerel bait fisheries.
