Regional Science Advisory on the Recovery Potential Assessment of Spring Cisco; December 8, 2009

Summary

A regional science peer review meeting was held on 8 December, 2009 in Montreal. The purpose of the review was to provide science advice on the recovery potential of Spring cisco (Coregonus sp.) including step process outlined in the Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO) Recovery Potential Assessment (RPA) Framework. The advice is intended to feed the recovery process, under Canada’s Species at Risk Act (SARA) for Spring cisco, which had been designated as Endangered by the Committee on the Status of Endangered Wildlife in Canada (COSEWIC). This proceedings report summarizes the relevant discussions and presents the key conclusions reached at the peer-review meeting.
