Context

The status of 4VW shrimp was last assessed in 2012 (DFO, 2013). The current update is requested by Fisheries and Aquaculture Management Branch to provide harvest advice for 2014.

Objectives

• Evaluate the overall status of Scotian Shelf shrimp in fishing areas 13-15 as of the fall of 2013, including relative stock abundance and exploitation rate.
• Evaluate the consequences of different harvest levels during the 2014 fishery on stock abundance and exploitation rate.
