The members review applications for introductions and transfers pursuant to:

Federal - Fisheries Act

Fishery (General) Regulations

Section 55 (1): No person shall, unless authorized to do so under a licence,

1. Release live fish into any fish habitat: or
2. Transfer any live fish to any fish rearing facility

Pacific Fishery Regulations, 1993
Section 5 and Schedule VIII: Prohibited Import Live Fish list (Appendix 1)

Provincial - Wildlife Act

Regulation 261/83: Freshwater Fish Regulation

Section 110(2)(h)(aa); A person commits an offence where he:

1. has in possession,
2. transports, or
3. traffics in

live fish unless authorized by a permit or a licence.

Fisheries Act (B.C.)

Section 8 and/or Regulation 364/89 of the B.C. Fisheries Act: permission to plant, introduce or transport live oysters into or within the Province of British Columbia.
