Service standards:

DFO minimizes the need for reconciliation by ensuring quota transfer mechanisms are in place to allow individuals or fleets to account for overruns during or at the end of a fishing season. For all email/Fax Transfer Requests, DFO will review and approve temporary quota transfer requests within one business day of receipt.

Performance target

The target for achieving the corresponding standard is set at 90 per cent.

Applying for transfer requests

Fish harvesters can submit their temporary quota transfer requests to Quota@dfo-mpo.gc.ca.

Concerns or complaints regarding the Department`s ability to achieve its service standard should be submitted to Quota@dfo-mpo.gc.ca.
